SAN DIEGO - Police were looking for a driver who slammed into a University City home early Monday morning and drove off.
The driver of the Mercedes C250 sedan crashed into the home at 7851 Camino Aguila at 12:46 a.m. Monday. Elena Cardenas, one of two residents inside the home, was in her upstairs bedroom at the time.
Cardenas heard tires screeching and then her entire home shook after the impact of the car. The Mercedes crashed right through the front door, at which point the driver threw it into reverse, backed out, and drove just a short distance to the 7800 block of Camino Noguera where they parked inside a carport.
Police easily tracked the vehicle due to a large trail of oil stretching from the scene to where the car was parked. The silver Mercedes emblem from the front hood was found at the crash scene.
The vehicle was not stolen and no one was hurt according to police.
