SAN DIEGO - A car passenger suffered a graze wound to one of his shoulders Friday when two people in another car opened fire on the vehicle in San Diego's Redwood Village neighborhood.

The gunfire erupted about 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of University Avenue and University Square, said San Diego police Sgt. Ray Battrick.

The victim was one of three males in a black Lexus that was fired upon by two males inside another car, Battrick said.

``The Lexus was hit five times by bullets and a rear passenger suffered a grazing wound to his shoulder,'' Battrick said.

It's unclear why the suspects shot at the victims' car.

The San Diego Police Department's Gang Unit was investigating the shooting.
