SAN DIEGO – All lanes but one were closed on the Coronado Bridge Monday afternoon due to a car fire, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Thick, black smoke was seen pouring from the burning car around 2:45 p.m. Monday.  Heavy traffic was reported due to the incident.

By 3:40 p.m., the lanes were reopened following cleanup of debris from that car fire, CHP said.

It was unknown if anyone was injured.
