DE LUZ, Calif. — Firefighters were battling a small brush fire in the De Luz neighborhood late Tuesday morning, Cal Fire said.
Cal Fire officials said they began fighting the fire along the 41100 block of De Luz Murrieta Road around 11:25 a.m. At that time, the fire had burned a half-acre, had a “moderate rate of spread” and threatened a nearby structure.
At about 1:45 p.m., Cal Fire said that the fire’s forward progress had been stopped.
#RanchFire [update] The IC is reporting that the forward rate of spread has been stopped. Crews will remain at scene into the afternoon mopping up and constructing containment lines.
