ESCONDIDO, Calif. — A Border Patrol SUV flipped on its side in a crash on the freeway in North County Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. on Interstate 15 at the Centre City Parkway onramp in Escondido, according to California Highway Patrol.

A man driving a sedan rear-ended the SUV, knocking it off-balance and rolling it on its side, CHP said. The agent inside was in some pain and evaluated for minor injuries on the roadside, while the man driving the sedan was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Authorities briefly shut down the onramp, but it reopened around 10 a.m.
