SAN DIEGO — The body of a missing 61-year-old Rancho Santa Fe woman was found early Thursday following her apparent suicide, police said.

Susan-BazeleySusan Bazeley was last seen leaving her home for work Wednesday morning, according to San Diego County sheriff’s Lt. Clayton Lisk. Her car was found early Wednesday night in Canyonside Community Park in Rancho Santa Fe.

Around midnight, her body was found along with a suicide note in the park area, San Diego police Officer Frank Cali said.

Bazeley’s husband reported her missing at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, saying it was highly unusual behavior for her to miss work, the lieutenant said, adding that the case was turned over to San Diego police after sheriff’s search and rescue volunteers scoured the park.

Bazeley worked for Tecnadyne Inc., a Rancho Sante Fe engineering firm owned by her husband, Andrew Bazeley, according to the company’s website. Tecnadyne Inc. makes parts used in underwater research vessels.
