JAMUL, Calif. — A body was found in a remote, rural location east of the Otay Lakes Friday.

A group of suspected undocumented immigrants detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents about 8 a.m. reported coming across the unidentified dead person, off Otay Lakes Road, near Campo Road in the Jamul area, USBP spokesman Eduardo Olmas said. The body was a male, the spokesman said.

Border Patrol officers located the body and called in the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to investigate.

The death did not appear to be suspicious and likely was related to environmental exposure, Olmas said.
