PALM DESERT, Calif. – Deputies searching for a missing AIG executive found a body Thursday, authorities said.

Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies and a dive team were looking for Omar Arce Meza, 33, at the pond at JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort since Monday, sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Armando Munoz said.

Authorities had not confirmed the identity of the body, but family members told Palm Springs TV station KMIR that the remains were those of Omar Arce Meza.

Meza, who had ties to San Diego, was last seen about 11 p.m. Thursday at the hotel in the 74800 block of Country Club Drive in Palm Desert after arriving for a business trip.  Meza often travels for work and visits Palm Desert every other month.

Meza, a vice president for AIG Financial Distributors, did not use his credit cards since that day, his wife, Diane Meza, told The Times.

His wife was expecting a call from him saying goodnight, but she never received one.

When he didn’t show up for business meetings the next day, his wife and colleagues reported him missing.

Security cameras filmed him walking out of the hotel but don’t show where he went.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Palm Desert station at 760-836-1600.
