SAN DIEGO — The 8-day-old gorilla being treated for pneumonia at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park is “showing great improvement,” zoo officials said Wednesday
The baby has finished her course of treatment with antibiotics and can now breath on her own without supplemental oxygen.
On Wednesday, the zoo’s veterinary staff began bottle-feeding the gorilla with formula.
The baby was delivered by Caesarian section. The mother, 18-year-old Imani, is now back with other gorillas.
