VALLEY CENTER, Calif. — Authorities Tuesday publicly identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash at a Valley Center intersection that left three people, including a 3-year-old girl, with non-life-threatening injuries.

Thirty-year-old Emmette Antoine Brown II of Chula Vista was riding a 2007 Honda motorcycle southbound on Valley Center Road around 4:10 p.m. Sunday when he collided with the left rear bumper of a 2017 Nissan Altima, whose driver was making a left turn onto Valley Center Road from Mirar De Valle Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Brown was ejected from the motorcycle and taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where he was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office reported.

Brown was a petty officer assigned to Naval Medical Center San Diego, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

A 39-year-old man driving the Nissan and his two passengers, a 42-year-old woman and a 3-year-old girl, were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to the CHP.
