Robber holds up Lemon Grove convenience store

LEMON GROVE, Calif. – Police Sunday were seeking an armed robber who held up a gas station’s convenience store Saturday night.

The robbery occurred about 9 p.m. at the Arco AM/PM station at 2717 Lemon Grove Ave., San Diego County Sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick McEvoy said.

“The armed suspect had fled with an undisclosed sum of money in a vehicle prior to deputies arriving,” McEvoy said.

The suspect was identified as a white man in his 40s with short black hair, medium height and a thin build. Police said he was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans. Witnesses described the vehicle the suspect left in as a white sedan, possibly a Buick. The vehicle was last seen northbound on Lemon Grove Avenue headed toward state Route 94.

There were no reported injuries.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. Callers may be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to a felony arrest.
