SAN DIEGO — An abandoned home was burned down in what officials called a suspicious fire in North Park Saturday.
Firefighters responded to flames in the 4000 block of Utah Street at about 2:20 a.m., according to Capt. Joe Amador of San Diego Fire-Rescue.
The cause wasn’t determined but witnesses told officials that transients were seen near the fire.
The house was known as a place where transients used drugs, Amador said. Inside, investigators found paraphernalia, cigarette butts and used candles.
No one was injured but the fire caused approximately $200,000 in damages, he said.
