SAN DIEGO — Three men were expected to survive after getting shot overnight in southeast San Diego, police said.
A group of people were in front of the Black Sabbath Motorcycle Club in the Mt. Hope neighborhood around 1:45 a.m. Sunday when several gunshots were heard, said Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department. When officers arrived they found three people had been hit.
“This is a motorcycle club,” said San Diego Police Lt. Mike Ramsey. “This is a large gathering of motorcycles over here tonight, and I believe that’s part of their clubhouse.”
A 39-year-old man was shot in the abdomen, a 32-year-old man was shot multiple times in the buttocks and legs and a 30-year-old man suffered a graze wound to his lips, Heims said. All three men were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
“We also had at least one vehicle struck by gunfire, so officers are still looking for evidence — shell casings, and surveillance video and other witnesses who might have seen what happened,” Ramsey said.
Police did not have any details about a description of the shooter. Police asked anyone who saw the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
