3 men arrested hours after man stabbed to death

SAN DIEGO — A fight that erupted in a Webster-area neighborhood early Thursday escalated into a stabbing that left one man dead and three others jailed on suspicion of murder.

The fracas in the 2300 block of Ridge View Drive broke out about 11 p.m. Wednesday, according to San Diego police.

Patrol officers arrived to find an an unconscious 23-year-old man who had suffered at least one stab wound to the chest, Lt. Paul Rorrison said.

Medics took the victim to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was withheld pending family notification.

At about 2 p.m., officers investigating the case arrested Anthony Erten Hayes, 36, Marlin Wayne Jackson, 35, and Monty Dashon Jackson, 26. They were booked into county jail, Rorrison said.

It was not immediately clear if the latter two suspects were related.
