The shooter appeared to be firing at victims randomly after walking up to the party through an alley, KTLA reports. Investigators had not determined by Wednesday morning whether there were any other gunmen involved in the shooting.
A motive was also not completely clear, according to the station. “At this stage we have no evidence that this is gang involved whatsoever,” Long Beach Police Chief Robert Luna said.
The party was originally described as a Halloween party, but officials received mixed reports about the reason for the gathering.
No arrests had been made as of Wednesday afternoon.
