3 arrested after high-speed chase in La Mesa

LA MESA, Calif. – Three people were in jail Monday morning after leading police on a high-speed chase in La Mesa, police said.

San Diego police tried to pull over a white sedan for speeding, but the driver sped off. Police and the California Highway Patrol chased the car down the state Route 94, reaching speeds of more than 100 mph, according to the CHP.

The car pulled over just before the Lemon Avenue exit, and one person ran down a freeway embankment. Police quickly caught up to him and arrested him, along with the two other people in the car.
