3 hurt when car slams into palm tree in Kensington

SAN DIEGO – Three people were hospitalized Wednesday morning after their car crashed into a palm tree in Kensington, police said.

The silver sedan went out of control slammed into a tree on Van Dyke Avenue around 7:50 p.m. The impact caved in the passenger side of the car. All three people in the car were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car was driving under the influence of alcohol, according to San Diego police.

A portion of Van Dyke Avenue were closed while crews cleaned up.
