SAN DIEGO -- Morse High School and Fulton Elementary School in the Skyline area were placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after a report of a person with a gun, according to San Diego police.

Around 2:40 p.m., San Diego Unified School District officials received a report of someone pointing a gun at a student. It was not known whether the suspect was a student.

The two schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution. Classes had been released for the day, but there were students on campus for after-school activities.

The lockdowns at both schools were lifted by 4:20 p.m.

Police searched the area but did not find the reported gunman.

No one was injured.
