SAN DIEGO – Authorities Thursday were searching for two men suspected of robbing a man at gunpoint at a Flinn Springs residence.

Dispatchers received a call shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday from a man reporting he had been robbed at gunpoint by two men at a residence on Olde Highway 80 just east of Flinn Springs County Park, according to San Diego County Sheriff’s Sgt. Kelly Moody.

When deputies arrived, the victim told them he had been confronted at his home by two armed men who had their faces covered.

The three then reportedly got into a physical altercation and the victim was struck in the head before the two thieves jumped in a vehicle, described as a white Honda Civic, and drove away in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash, Moody said.

The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries, he said.

No suspect descriptions were immediately available.

Detectives from the Alpine sheriff’s station were investigating the robbery.
