SAN DIEGO — A fight over a skateboard in Balboa Park left one woman wounded and the other behind bars, San Diego police said Tuesday.

The 37-year-old victim and a 32-year-old acquaintance began fighting over who owned a skateboard around 7:45 p.m. Monday along Pershing Drive near 26th Street, San Diego police Sgt. David Jennings said.

At some point during the altercation, the younger woman pulled a knife and slashed the victim on her neck and arm, Jennings said. She was taken to a hospital and received stitches.

The suspect initially fled, but was arrested after witnesses found her hiding in some bushes, Jennings said.
