SAN DIEGO — A 30-year-old man suspected of driving under the influence crashed his Fiat 500 head-on into a 1987 Chevrolet Nova in San Diego Wednesday, killing the Nova’s 61-year-old woman driver, police said.

The collision occurred in the 14100 block of Carmel Valley Road at 6:24 p.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.

The eastbound Fiat apparently drifted into the oncoming westbound lane, police said.

The Fiat driver was arrested. The woman in the Nova died at the scene.
