SAN DIEGO — A 34-year-old Camp Pendleton Marine was killed early Saturday in a crash on Interstate 805 in Kearny Mesa.
The Marine, a Sacramento resident, crashed his speeding motorcycle into a Honda Accord, which had just been struck by a hit-and-run driver in the northbound lanes near exit ramp to Balboa Avenue about 3:45 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol and the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
He died at the scene.
The motorcyclist killed in the crash was in his military uniform.
No one else involved in the crash was seriously injured, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
