1 dies after Ford Mustang crashes into parked vehicle

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. — A person died Saturday after crashing off Interstate 5 in the Shelltown neighborhood, California Highway Patrol officials said.

The accident was reported at 1:22 p.m. when a Ford Mustang traveling north on I-5 left the freeway and crashed along Roosevelt Avenue near West 5th Street.

The Ford Mustang was engaged in a dispute with another driver on I-5 and speeding before crashing off the road and hitting a parked tractor-trailer, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

CHP officials said the accident resulted in one fatality.

No other details were immediately available. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
