SAN DIEGO -- Domino's Pizza has teamed up with General Motors to make sure that pizzas ordered for home delivery arrive piping hot at your door.

The company is introducing a fleet of specially designed delivery cars. Designed by General Motors with input from Domino's drivers, the new vehicle is called the DXP,  short for delivery expert, said Shane Casey, a San Diego Domino's franchise owner.

The compact car has a built-in warming cabinet that can hold 88 regular pizzas or about 50 extra large pies, Casey said.

"We've already made your pizza. It's hot. We're going to keep it hot all the way to the door," Case said.

Casey, who started with the company as a pizza delivery driver, said 90 percent of Domino's franchise owners also started as drivers.
