SAN DIEGO, Calif. — The San Diego Chargers are giving back to local students with the team’s 28th annual back-to-school shoe distribution.
Chargers players helped children shop for new shoes at five Payless ShoeSource locations in San Diego on Tuesday. Kindergartners through sixth grade students were selected by their schools to participate.
Jerry Attaochu, King Dunlap, Brandon Flowers, Antonio Gates, Melvin Gordon, Philip Rivers, Darrell Stuckey, Manti Te’o, Jason Verrett, Danny Woodhead were among players who handed out more than 1,000 pairs of shoes to deserving children.
Funds for the shoes are provided by Chargers Chairman of the Board Dean Spanos and Payless ShoeSource.
