SAN DIEGO — An exhibition of original art created exclusively for Comic-Con International over the years is scheduled to go on display Saturday at the San Diego Central Library.

The exhibition, which runs through August, features work from more than 60 artists, and includes original sketches, thumbnails, pencil and ink art, color art, and process pieces — work that leads up to a final product, according to Comic-Con.

An opening reception is scheduled to begin at noon at the library at 330 Park Blvd. The free event will feature Mad magazine cartoonist Sergio Aragones, who will sign free posters.

Comic-Con International, the annual celebration of the popular arts, is scheduled to open July 8 at the San Diego Convention Center.
