Samantha is a bilingual sports journalist (English/Spanish) who’s beyond excited to be working in the Golden State. A Chicagoland native, she moved just in time to happily avoid the year’s first snowstorm. She’s already sent plenty of photos back home of the warm weather here and somehow hasn’t lost any friendships yet.
Most recently, Samantha worked as a weekend sports anchor/reporter at WTVO/WQRF in Rockford, Ill. In her two years there, she covered everything from professional to high school sports. There was a heavy emphasis on Chicago Bears coverage with the Bear Blitz show, but she also covered hometown hero Fred VanVleet and the Raptors’ journey to becoming NBA champions. On top of that, Samantha cohosted the Sports Connection show, covering high school football/basketball with in-depth features and highlights on local student-athletes. She also covered the Rockford IceHogs, Chicago Blackhawks, Cubs, White Sox, etc.
Before working in Rockford, Samantha was a morning live shot reporter/MMJ/anchor at WLUC-TV6/FOX UP in Marquette, Mich. for about a year covering news. She misses the 906 all the time.
Samantha is a proud alum of DePaul University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations and advertising. Go Blue Demons!
When she’s not working, Samantha enjoys eating tacos (send all the recommendations please and thank you), watching movies and working out. If you ever have any story ideas or just want to say hi, feel free to connect on social media and send her a message!
