Hi, ya’ll! I’m a Texas girl now living on the West Coast and I’m so happy I got the opportunity to be here to share your stories.
I joined the FOX 5 team in May of 2017. Some of the biggest stories I’ve covered so far in Southern California include President Donald Trump’s visit to San Diego, the devastating Lilac Fire and the West Fire.
Before my stop in San Diego I anchored and reported in Oklahoma City. There I covered everything from ice storms to tornadoes to high-profile trials that captured national attention. I got my start in TV news at KXII-TV in Sherman, Texas where I was a one-man-band reporter and weekend anchor. In all my years of reporting I can tell you my favorite stories to share are stories of survival. Those always uplift and inspire me. In my eyes, the biggest perk of this job is getting to meet so many wonderful people.
So how did I get here? I worked hard to get my journalism degree from the University of Texas at Austin — but without God, my amazing family, friends and mentors I wouldn’t be all the way in California right now soaking in the sun and enjoying all the beautiful sunsets.
What do I like to do in my free time? I love hanging out with my little rescue dog “Pinto Bean,” and of course my friends and family! I’ve done a good bit of traveling, but there are hundreds of more places I’d like to go. I still have so much exploring to do here in San Diego, too, so if you have any good recommendations on sights to see and places to eat please let me know!
Like we say in Texas, “don’t be a stranger.” Feel free to e-mail me to say hi or pass along a story idea: firstname.lastname@example.org
