Julian comes to San Diego after spending the last five years in Reno, Nevada.
In the Biggest Little City, Julian wore many hats, rising the ranks from photographer to multimedia journalist, anchor and eventually playing an integral role in launching a regional sports network, the first ever in the community.
While at KRNV and Nevada Sports Net, Julian established himself as the traveling reporter covering the University of Nevada. Reporting in close to 15 states, Julian was able to establish a following in the Mountain West Conference. From an NCAA Sweet 16 run, multiple Mountain West conference championships, bowl games and coaches show, Julian was able to gain experience few people in their 20s get to do.
Away from the Mountain West, Julian was also part of several different specials that aired in the Northern Nevada community. His love of the outdoors was most notably highlighted in the show “Exploring Our Backyard.”
From flying a stunt plane, skydiving, scuba diving, land sailing and riding on horseback through the middle of the Nevada desert for five days, herding 300 cattle for more than 90 miles, Julian has lived life to the absolute fullest and somehow lived to tell the tale. He also fell in love with skiing and his travels allowed him to “shred pow” in nearly 10 different states.
Despite being new to San Diego, Julian is not new to Southern California. An alum of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Julian was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. His family runs a mom-and-pop store in Pacoima, Del Gaudio’s Market, which has been in the area for almost seven decades.
Have a story idea? He’d love to hear it!
