Jafet Serrato is a digital news producer at FOX 5 San Diego. He joined the FOX 5 team in November of 2022. He writes and produces content that can be seen on fox5sandiego.com, the FOX 5 app, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.
Jafet developed a passion for journalism when he first saw the KTLA Morning News at the age of 10.
He then went to California State University, Chico to earn his bachelor’s degree in journalism. After he graduated, he went on to become a TV reporter at the local CBS station in Chico.
He has now come to sunny San Diego to expand his opportunities and get a taste of the city life, considering he lived in the Chico area his whole life.
