Hey, San Diego! I am so happy to be back home in Southern California. I joined the FOX 5 crew in March 2020 after moving from Austin, Texas, where I was the morning news reporter on Good Day Austin at FOX 7 for a little more than three years. Not going to lie — it was tough at first living in Longhorn Country as I’m a proud Trojan who was still slightly bitter over the 2005 National Championship loss to Texas.
While in Austin, I reported on many national stories such as the deadly bombings that terrorized the city for nearly three weeks in March 2018. I also reported on the church shooting in Sutherland Springs that killed 26 people and covered the horrific aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
Before moving to the Capitol City, I was a reporter and anchor at the CBS affiliate in Tyler, Texas. It was much different than the big city life I was used to, but I always thought of Tyler as the state’s secret gem. I loved it and made the best of friends. During my time there, I covered the deadly tornado in Van, Texas, and the Dallas police shootings that killed five officers in July 2016.
I’m a Southern California native, born and raised in Diamond Bar. I graduated with honors from USC with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Fight On! I’m 100% Armenian and beyond proud of it. I would love to connect with any fellow Armenians in San Diego, so if you’re reading this, reach out! I would also love everyone to know I’m Justin Timberlake’s No. 1 fan — feel free to challenge me on all things related to JT and *NYSNC.
Fun fact: my most memorable TV moment was probably performing live on Good Day Austin with a few of the best dancers from Dancing with the Stars for their big grand opening of their newest dance studio.
As I embrace my new life in San Diego, I would love to hear from you! If you have any story ideas or tips on the latest and greatest things happening, contact me on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. Tootles!
