Frank Jefferson joins the FOX 5 team after working as a KETK/FOX51 news reporter in Tyler, Texas. He’s originally from Fairfield, California where his love for sports grew, participating in everything from basketball to track and field. His love for storytelling started at a young age. At times he would staple stacks of paper to create stories for his family to read.
Frank traveled several hours away to and from San Francisco to attend Saint Ignatius College Preparatory High School. He was known as the “renaissance man.” He played saxophone in the band and was captain of the football team. It was the media organization SITV at Saint Ignatius that sparked his love for working in front and behind the camera.
After high school, Frank took a leap of faith and went across the country to Clark Atlanta University in Georgia. He was a part of the mass media arts team, CAUTV, where he covered football, softball and basketball games as a sports reporter, leading him to produce and host a 30-minute show. He graduated in 2019 with a bachelor of science degree in mass media arts with a concentration in radio, television and film.
He spent two years at KETK/FOX51 covering everything from Black Lives Matter protests to cold cases featured on Dateline to going down to Galveston to cover a hurricane. After learning so much in east Texas and making lasting friendships, he was ready to bring his passion for storytelling to FOX 5.
He loves going to movies, watching sports, spending time with family and friends and trying something new.
Please reach out to Frank with any sports story ideas.
