High surf advisory issued for the county

SAN DIEGO — High surf conditions are expected Monday evening, the National Weather Service forecast office in San Diego said Sunday.

Surf of six to eight feet is expected, forecasters said, and local sets may reach nine feet at times.

The surf advisory begins at 10 a.m. Monday. The weather service warns of dangerous swimming conditions, high risk of rip currents and possible beach erosion.
