SOLANA BEACH, Calif. -- Crews battled a fire that broke out Tuesday night at a condominium building in Solana Beach, authorities said.
The fire broke out around 9 p.m. inside the Del Mar Beach Club, a gated complex in the 700 block of Pacific Surf Drive. When crews arrived, they found a unit fully engulfed in fire, with flames shooting out of a third-story window, according to Mike Stein, fire chief for the cities of Solana Beach, Del Mar and Encinitas. The fire spread into the attic and caused two areas of the roof to partially collapse.
All five units inside the building were safely evacuated, according to San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The American Red Cross was assisting the displaced residents.
Several agencies were assisting with firefighting efforts, include fire departments from San Diego, Vista, Encinitas, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Carlsbad and Rancho Santa Fe.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the blaze was not yet known.
