This is at least the fifth shooting incident in Linda Vista since May. On May 23, a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed. A month later, another young man was shot near a memorial for the 16-year-old victim. In early August, a 19-year-old man was wounded in a shooting near Kelly Street Neighborhood Park. And on October 3, a teenager was shot in a drive-by shooting in the 6900 block of Linda Vista Road
