SAN DIEGO -- A 24-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday after he was shot once in each leg during a fight at a home in the Teralta East area of City Heights, police said.
It happened around 11:10 p.m. Tuesday at a home on 45th Street near University Avenue, according to San Diego police.
The 24-year-old man met with a group of friends at Teralta Park, roughly a mile away near Interstate 15, then the group went to the home on 45th Street to drink alcohol, Officer John Buttle said.
While at the home, the victim got into an argument with a man who was not from the original group, Buttle said. The argument escalated into a fight, then the other man pulled out a gun and shot the victim once in the right calf and once in the left knee.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening, the officer said.
No suspect description was immediately available.
Gang detectives were investigating the shooting.
