Crews knock down brush fire in Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA, Calif. -- Crews have knocked down a brush fire that broke out Wednesday night in Chula Vista.

The blaze was reported shortly after 8 p.m. off northbound Interstate 805 and E Street, according to California Highway Patrol.

The fire grew to between a quarter-acre and a half-acre before crews from National City, San Diego and Chula Vista fire departments put it out, according to National City fire officials.

No injuries were reported. An investigation is underway.
