SAN DIEGO -- Crews battled flames on the side of an old water tower in the Point Loma area Thursday.
The fire was reported just before 11 a.m. near Catalina Boulevard and Mills Street.

Flames ripped through a tarp on the backside of the large, cylindrical structure.
Firefighters told FOX 5 a construction crew was working to tear down the tower. At some point, the materials they were using caught fire.
The scaffold also caught fire, but crews managed to climb down unharmed.
