Bystander hit after fight leads to shooting downtown

SAN DIEGO — A man was shot downtown Sunday night and the gunnman escaped, authorities said.

Shots were fired around 10:15 p.m. near 6th Avenue and A Street, San Diego Police Department confirmed.

Two people were arguing when one of them opened fire. A bystander was caught in the crossfire and hit, but they were expected to recover from their injuries, SDPD said.

Police had not tracked down the gunman as of Monday morning and a detailed description was not immediately available.
