Man, woman found dead in San Marcos home

SAN MARCOS, Calif. -- Sheriff's homicide detectives were called Monday to investigate two deaths at a home in San Marcos.

Around 10:15 a.m., deputies received a call about an incident in the 1100 block of Lanza Court, according to  sheriff's Lt. Chad Boudreau. A neighbor told deputies that two children, ages 10 and 11, "were inside the home and afraid to come out," Boudreau said.

When deputies entered the home, they found a man and a woman, both "unresponsive with trauma to their body," Boudreau said. They were declared dead at the scene.

The children were taken to be reunited with family, Boudreau said.

There were no outstanding suspects, Boudreau said.
