SAN DIEGO -- The body of a young man was found Monday floating in Chollas Lake, authorities said.
The discovery at the city fishing lake on College Grove Drive in Oak Park was reported about noon, according to San Diego police.
Police say a passerby noticed the body near the center of the lake.
When police and firefighters arrived at the lake, they pulled the body from the water. The dead person was a Latino man in his mid to late 20s who was fully clothed, investigators said. He did not appear to be suffering from an traumatic injuries, but it was not clear how he died or ended up in the lake, they added.
The body did not have any identification with it, police said.
“It was crazy -- because we always come here. It's such a peaceful place -- never seen anything like this before at this lake," said a visitor.
Chollas Lake Park was closed for the rest of the day.
