Small quake rattles island off SoCal coast on rainy afternoon

SAN DIEGO — A preliminary 3.5 earthquake rocked the Southern California coast on Saturday afternoon, officials say.

The quake’s epicenter was reported miles from San Clemente Island, located around 67 miles from San Diego, according to the United States Geological Survey.

No injures were reported.
