Police track down man suspected of North County stabbing

OCEANSIDE, Calif. — Police arrested a man accused of stabbing someone at an Oceanside convenience store after an hour-long manhunt Friday.

Police say the man stabbed someone outside an ARCO gas station and ampm store on Melrose Drive near Oceanside Boulevard around 11 a.m.

Officials asked people to stay out of the area while Oceanside Police searched surrounding streets for the man and a Sheriff’s Department helicopter searched from the sky. Meanwhile, the convenience store was roped off with crime scene tape as investigators worked in the area.

The man was arrested around noon.
