SAN DIEGO -- Lifeguards Wednesday evening rescued two men inside a pickup that became stuck in the mud in rising water in the Tijuana River Valley.

The men drove their truck into two to three feet of water on Dairy Mart Road in San Ysidro, near the U.S.-Mexico border, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

A swift water rescue team from San Diego Fire-Rescue Department arrived and got the men to dry ground.

"Don't go into the water with your vehicle. Your vehicle is not a life preserver. It can kill you," San Diego lifeguard John Bail said.

No injuries were reported.
