24-year-old hospitalized after stabbing in Oceanside

OCEANSIDE, Calif. — A man was hospitalized Friday with non-life- threatening injuries he suffered when another man stabbed him in Oceanside, police said.

It happened shortly after 8:40 p.m. Thursday, near the intersection of Mission Avenue and Myers Street, located near Rotary Park, Oceanside police Lt. Kedrick Sadler said.

Two men got into an argument that escalated to a physical fight and a 24-year-old man was stabbed at least once in the upper torso, Sadler said.

The victim was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of at least one stab wound, Sadler said.

The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Sadler said.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, Sadler said.

No suspect descriptions were immediately available.

Department officers were investigating the incident.
