Group escapes after shooting 3 women near North County bar

OCEANSIDE, Calif. -- Two men opened fire on a group of women at an Oceanside strip mall early Sunday evening, leaving all three victims injured.

The shooting was reported outside a clothing store behind  Maxdon's Pub, on the corner of Mission Avenue and El Camino Real, around 5 p.m. All of the women were wounded but none suffered life-threatening injuries, according to the Oceanside Police Department.

Police say two men opened fire on the women before speeding off in a car with a third person. Officers were still searching for the shooters after 9:30 p.m.

"It's something that never happens, but today, unluckily, it happened here," said Eangelica Camiro, a server at a nearby restaurant. "We had to actually tell our customers to go in the back to make sure they were safe."

Anyone with information about the attack was urged to contact Oceanside police.
