4.4-magnitude quake strikes east of Temecula

AGUANGA, Calif. — A preliminary magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck east of Temecula Tuesday evening and was felt across San Diego County.

The epicenter of the quake, which was reported at 6:24 p.m., was four miles northeast of Aguanga in Riverside County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. A preliminary 3.0 magnitude earthquake followed shortly after at 6:53 p.m, USGS reported.

Residents in Vista, Oceanside, Carlsbad, La Jolla, Escondido, El Cajon, Santee and as far south as Chula Vista reported feeling the quake, according to comments on FOX 5’s Facebook page.

No injuries or damages were reported.
