Driver dies in rollover crash in Oceanside

OCEANSIDE, Calif. — A man was killed Tuesday night in a rollover crash in Oceanside.

The crash happened around 9:45 p.m. in the 3500 block of Mission Avenue near Fireside Street, according to Oceanside police.

Streets in the area are expected to be closed for the next several hours.

The victim, believed to be 22 years old, was driving a 2000 Toyota Echo westbound on Mission Avenue when it slammed into the center median for unknown reasons and flipped several times, Davis said.

The man, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene, Oceanside police Sgt. Rick Davis said.

Oceanside police officers were investigating the crash.
