SAN DIEGO-- The pilot of a military plane that crashed at the Lake Havasu Airport Tuesday morning was released after being examined at an are hospital, authorities said.
The Airforce F-16C jet attached to the 56th Fighter wing had taken off from Luke Air Force Base, located just west of Phoenix. The pilot ejected after an aborted landing at Lake Havasu Municipal Airport around 10:35 a.m.
The pilot was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center and released after being examined, said a spokesman for Luke Air Force Base.
A safety investigation board is conducting a full investigation of the crash.
Flying operations at Luke Air Force Base resumed Tuesday afternoon after pausing for several hours.
