RAMONA, Calif. — Authorities released the name Tuesday of a 20-year-old man fatally shot by an unknown assailant last weekend in front of a Ramona home.

Deputies responding to reports of gunfire found Ivan Nivinskus of Ramona mortally wounded on the ground in the 15900 block of Wood Rock Lane shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday, according to sheriff’s officials. He died at the scene, Lt. Michael Blevins said.

The county Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Nivinskus suffered multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide.

Officials have not disclosed a suspected motive for the slaying.
